Power cut?
Where to report and what to check.

You can report a power cut by calling the free emergency energy service number 991 - it connects you with the operator appropriate for your address. In Dolny Śląsk, this is TAURON Dystrybucja (from a mobile phone or from outside the region: 32 303 0 991). Before you call, check one thing: is the power out in the entire area, or just at your place - this determines who is responsible for the fault.

Planned or failure

How to check if it is a planned outage or a sudden failure?

Planned outages are announced in advance by TAURON Dystrybucja - you can find them on the operator's outage map and in the ENERTIA address checker. If there is nothing on the map, and there is no power at your place and your neighbours' - it is most likely a sudden grid failure, report it to 991. If the grid is working, but it is dark only at your place, go to the section below.

No power only at my place - what to do?

Three steps that show in one minute who is responsible for the fault - so you don't pay for an unnecessary visit and don't wait for the operator when the problem is inside your flat.

Step 1

Check if your neighbours also have no power

If the whole area or many neighbours are in the dark, it is a grid failure or a planned outage. Check the TAURON Dystrybucja outage map or the ENERTIA address checker and report the outage to the toll-free number 991.

Step 2

Check the building's common areas

If there is no power in the stairwell, basement, or lift, but the local grid is working - report it to your building administrator or manager. This is usually a fault in the internal shared installation.

Step 3

Check your premises and call an electrician

If the power is out only in your property, a circuit breaker keeps tripping, or you smell burning - it is a fault in the premises' installation. Call an electrician; an ENERTIA technician will quote the price before starting work, and confirm the call-out fee upon booking.

Questions and Answers

Power cuts - Frequently Asked Questions

Which number should I call to report a power cut?

You can report a power cut by calling the free emergency energy service number 991 - it operates 24/7 and automatically connects you with the operator responsible for your address. In Lower Silesia, this is TAURON Dystrybucja. From a mobile phone or from outside the operator's area, call 32 303 0 991 (charged according to your operator's tariff). You can also report a failure via the TAURON Dystrybucja online form.

How to check if it is a planned outage or a sudden failure?

Planned outages are announced in advance by TAURON Dystrybucja - you can see them on the operator's outage map and in the free ENERTIA address checker. If there is nothing on the map, and there is no power at your place and your neighbours', it is most likely a sudden network failure - report it to 991.

There is no power only in my flat - is it a network failure?

Usually not. If your neighbours and the stairwell have power, but you do not, the problem lies in the building's installation or in the protective devices - this is a matter for an electrician, not the operator. Do not repeatedly switch on a fuse or a tripping RCD: this is a sign of a fault that needs to be found.

A fuse or RCD trips after switching on - what should I do?

Disconnect the device you last plugged in and try to reset the protective device once. If it trips again - do not force it. Repeated tripping indicates a short circuit, overload, or damage to the installation; measurement and repair by a qualified electrician are required.

Who pays for fixing the failure - the operator or me?

A network failure before the meter (poles, connection, transformer) is repaired by TAURON Dystrybucja free of charge. The owner or the housing association is responsible for the installation from the meter into the premises - this is the scope in which an electrician helps. That is why we first determine which side of the meter the fault is on.

Do you handle power cuts in the entire region?
