Fire safety device, not an accessory
Emergency and escape lighting inspection, measurements, report
Operational test after power failure, illuminance measurement on the escape route, luminaire operating time, and report for the building logbook. We perform inspections in accordance with fire safety regulations — at least once a year.
Emergency lighting is a fire safety device — the obligation for inspections arises from building fire protection regulations, and the required parameters from standards (including PN-EN 1838).
Scope
What the inspection covers.
- Inventory of emergency and escape luminaires on the building plan
- Operational test after simulated power failure
- Measurement of illuminance on the axis of the escape route
- Checking the autonomous operating time of luminaires
- Assessment of pictograms and visibility of escape signs
- Report with a list of faults and recommendations
- Repairs and replacements of luminaires or batteries upon acceptance
Emergency ≠ escape
- escape lighting illuminates the escape route and signs,
- standby lighting allows work to be completed or safely interrupted,
- each function is tested differently — and each must have a report.
Standard PN-EN 1838 specifies, among other things, a minimum of 1 lx on the axis of the escape route and 5 lx near fire safety equipment.
Process
From inventory to entry in the building logbook.
- InventoryLuminaires, pictograms, building plan.
- Failure testSimulated power failure of the lighting circuit.
- MeasurementsIlluminance on the escape route — grid of points.
- AutonomyOperating time of luminaires on batteries.
- ReportResults, faults, recommendations, date of next inspection.
- RepairsReplacement of luminaires and batteries after cost acceptance.
Proof
A report that stands up to inspection.
- List of luminaires with results: functional / non-functional / for observation
- Illuminance measurement results with points on the plan
- Measured, not declared, autonomous operating time
- Recommendations with priority and cost estimate
- Date of next inspection in the calendar — we remind you ourselves
- Document ready for PSP, insurer, and building owner
One visit, two obligations.
We combine emergency lighting inspection with electrical installation measurements — fewer site visits and one consistent set of documents.
FAQ
Questions about emergency lighting.
How often should an inspection be carried out?
At least once a year — emergency lighting is a fire safety device and is subject to inspections in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, no less frequently than annually. Standard PN-EN 50172 additionally provides for short functional tests during the year and an annual full autonomy duration test.
What does the standard require for measurements?
PN-EN 1838 specifies, among other things, a minimum of 1 lx on the escape route axis, 0.5 lx in the open area, and 5 lx at fire-fighting equipment and alarm points, as well as an operating time of at least 1 hour. We document measurements with points on a plan.
What determines the price?
Depending on the number of luminaires and measurement points, the size and accessibility of the facility, and the time of work — some tests are more convenient to perform outside working hours. After providing the number of luminaires, we will give you a price range before arrival.
Do you replace luminaires and batteries?
Yes. We repair faults from the protocol after cost acceptance — from battery replacement to supplementing missing luminaires along with updating the layout plan.
B2B Contact
Book an emergency lighting inspection.
Provide the type of facility and the approximate number of luminaires (if known) — we will propose a date and price range.
Our principle: a protocol with measurements and a plan, not just a signature — and we will remind you about the date of the next inspection ourselves.
